Castile and Leon
The wines of Castile and Leon are blessed by the Duero River. This Community seems to have been conceived as a large agricultural area dotted with vineyards mainly around the basin of its main river, the Duero, which is home to the recognized wine regions of Bierzo, Cigales, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, Toro, Arlanza, Arribes, V.C. Tierras de León and V.C. Tierra del Vino de Zamora. This Community is known above all for the power and elegance of the wines of Toro, the unmistakable white of Rueda, the clarets of the young Cigales, its unmistakable Tinta Fino from Ribera del Duero, the pleasant wines produced by the microclimate of Bierzo, etc.
